“Lionel Rickie knows The OC”
Last year, his All the Hits All Night Long Tour took all season long to finally arrive in California, wrapping with a career-spanning triumph that thrilled a capacity crowd at the Hollywood Bowl in October.
This time will be just the opposite. Richie, who bounded back to the top of the charts in 2012 with his collaborative collection Tuskegee, has lined up another North American leg of that classics-filled bonanza – and he’s starting on the West Coast, including his first O.C. appearance since 2006.
Launching May 29 from Vancouver, his trek, with CeeLo Green opening, arrives at Honda Center in Anaheim five days later, June 3, before heading to Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas on June 6 and Sleep Train Amphitheatre in Chula Vista on June 7, shortly before he turns 65. (Notice there’s enough room for an additional date, whether at the former Pond or perhaps somewhere in L.A.)
Tickets and VIP packages go on sale Feb. 21, though a pre-sale for Citi card-holders begins Friday at 10 a.m. Prices for the Anaheim show aren’t available yet, but for Sleep Train the range is $35.50-$135.50. Expect Honda Center to be comparable.
