Representatives from participating charities hold up their checks after Newport Rib Co.’s 30 Days of Charity program nets $36,150 in donations.
Newport Rib Co.’s monthlong anniversary celebration, 30 Days of Charity, netted $36,150 in donations.
Throughout November, patrons were asked to allocate 20% of their bill to one of 30 local and national charities.
The Wounded Warrior Project and the Orange County chapters of Alzheimer’s Assn. and Susan G. Komen received the most donations, according to a news release. Other popular picks included Share Our Selves, Save Our Youth and the McKenna Claire Foundation for Pediatric Brain Cancer.
“It was heartwarming to see some of the local charities do well,” Dave Ursini, co-owner of Newport Rib Co., said in a statement. “They work hard year-round to provide assistance to those in need. We are glad that we can support their work through our anniversary celebration.”
The 30 Days of Charity commemorated the 30th anniversary of Newport Rib Co., 2196 Harbor Blvd., which was founded in 1984.
